Tri-Institutional Future Scholar Symposium: Genetics and Cancer
This sponsored symposium will be held March 27-28, 2025, for senior graduate students from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Vanderbilt University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Keynote Speakers
David Cortez, Ph.D., from Vanderbilt University will be a keynote speaker at the Symposium. Cortez is the chair of Biochemistry Department, the Richard N. Armstrong Ph.D. Chair and the associate director for Basic Science Research at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
Channing Der, Ph.D., from the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center will be a keynote speaker at the Symposium. Der is the Sarah Graham Kenan Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology.

Senior Ph.D. students at Vanderbilt University, University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill or University of Alabama at Birmingham who are interested in genetics or cancer are eligible to attend.
The symposium will be held March 27-28, 2025.
